How to use the AI Nurse and AI Nurse templates. Troubleshooting tips. These topics are arranged in order of increasing difficulty, providing a series of building blocks for easier learning. Simple Prompts. A prompt is essentially a set of 'instructions.' Simple prompts fall into the category of 'simple instructions' or commands that you give to the AI. The AI uses your audio recordings, PDFs, or screenshots as context to perform the tasks you request via these "prompts". Here are the most popular simple prompts in our community, after this, we will dive into after into advanced prompts and note hyper-customization. Diagnostic Assistance: "Based on these symptoms and test results, what are the possible diagnoses from the provided transcript?" Treatment Suggestions: "What are the recommended treatment options for a patient with this diagnosis from the provided transcript?" Drug Interactions: "Are there any potential interactions between these medications from the provided transcript?" Patient Risk Assessment: "Evaluate the risk factors for this patient developing a certain condition from the provided transcript" Medical Literature Summaries: "Summarize the key findings of this medical study. [Insert Medical Study test here or attach PDF/Image]" EHR (Electronic Health Records) Data Analysis: "Extract and summarize the relevant patient history from my EHR." Requires EHR integration. Remote Patient Monitoring Alerts: "Alert me if there are concerning trends in this patient's remote monitoring data from the provided transcript." Surgical Procedure Planning: "Assist in planning a surgical procedure by providing relevant anatomical and procedural information from the provided transcript" Healthcare Resource Allocation: "Optimize the allocation of hospital resources based on current patient needs and forecasts from the provided transcript" Mental Health Assessments: "Evaluate the mental health status of a patient based on their responses to the questionnaire from the provided transcript" Billing Code Optimization: "Identify the most accurate and appropriate billing codes for this patient's diagnosis and treatment to ensure compliance and maximize reimbursement." Claim Denial Analysis and Resolution: "Analyze the reasons for this patient's insurance claim denial and provide suggestions for resolving the issue and facilitating successful claim processing." Insurance Coverage Verification: "Verify the insurance coverage and benefits for this patient's proposed treatment plan, including any limitations, copays, or pre-authorizations required." [Attach insurance via PDF, Image or append text from the patient conversation transcript] Analytics on the go: Create a patient table analytics from the provided transcript. (You can allow the AI to surprise you with the proposed insights or you can request specific insights that you are looking to dive in. You can do the same for the entire patient thread if you had multiple encounters from the same patient across a period of time or organization-level analytics if you create an organization specific thread) Remember, these are popular prompts amongst our community, but you can create your own based on your use case, needs, and creativity. Advanced Prompts for Note Hyper-customization Advanced prompts function just like simple prompts, but they are more intricate by nature. Typically, they begin with a 'main instruction,' which is then followed and intertwined with a set of sub-instructions. These sub-instructions act as additional layers, offering extra guidance and support to the AI as it navigates through the entire task. Think of it like a recipe: the main instruction is the basic method, while the sub-instructions are like specific steps and tips that ensure a successful and refined outcome. In order to automate notes that are hyper customized you will need. 1) A simple prompt. 2) Your note template. Optionally, include sub-instructions for each header, specifying your preferences for writing style and format for each header (bullet points, paragraphs, tables of analytics, etc.). When these two components are blended together, they form what we call an Advanced Prompt. Here is a straightforward example: ————————————————————————————————————————— Generate a medical note using the following template from the provided transcript. CHIEF COMPLAINT: HISTORY OF PRESENT ILLNESS: CURRENT MEDICATIONS: PAST MEDICAL HISTORY: HOSPITALIZATIONS: ALLERGIES: SOCIAL HISTORY: Smoking Status: ___________ Alcohol use: ___________ Caffeine use: ___________ Marital status: ___________ Racial background: ___________ Native language: ___________ Exercise habits: ___________ FAMILY HISTORY: Father: _______________ Mother: _______________ PREVENTIVE CARE: Hemoglobin A1c: ____________ Blood Glucose: ____________ Colonoscopy: ____________ COVID Vaccine: ____________ Last Complete Physical: ____________ Lipid Panel: ____________ PSA: ____________ REVIEW OF SYSTEMS: PHQ-2: ____________ VITAL SIGNS: Weight: _________; Height: _________; BMI: _________ Temperature: _________; Respiration Rate: _________; Pulse Rate: _________; Blood Pressure: _________ Pulse Oximetry: _________ PHYSICAL EXAMINATION: General: ____________ Lungs: ____________ Heart: ____________ Musculoskeletal: ____________ Diagnostic test results: DIAGNOSIS: PLAN: ———————————————————————————————————————— If you noticed above, the simple prompt was the actual instruction “Generate a medical note using the following template from the provided transcript.” And then we appended the rest of the template, if you do not provide the instruction and only add the template, the AI will not make a high-quality note. It’s very important that you refer to the patient conversation as a “transcript” because that’s what the AI will receive, not an actual audio recording + the AI can't actually hear, the transcript is then used as context for the AI to analyze. That's why we always finalize the prompt with the phrase "from the provided transcript" although you are welcome to slightly modify this as well as long as you keep the word "transcript". If you provide an screenshot/image or pdf, then replace the word transcript for whatever you append as context. Since the template of every provider it’s different, you can use the example above and edit the template as you wish and the AI will autofill that based on your patient conversation. All prompts can be edited however you want, there's one simple rule of thumb, be clear in your instructions/prompts and make sure your computer or phone records high quality audio. That's it. Now we will go into more complex topics, these are the notes and prompts created by ambitious and tech savvy medical providers, they go even deeper on each layer of the note by adding sub instructions to each clinical header, or even requesting differential diagnosis and more. Sometimes they even request an analytics table for a specific header too. Let's teach you how to do both at once, adding a sub-instruction and making an analytics table on the go for a particular header. Please see the image below, and ignore the colored highlights of our scanner. You will see that we start with our simple prompt: "Create a medical note following this template from the provided transcript" as you learned before followed by the template, but this time there is something different, a sub-instruction in the Lab/Imaging/Consult header, the sub-instruction goes: "(For this section I want to make a table chart with analytics.)" Advanced Prompt with sub-instructions on Lab Header: And here was the result after processing, click play: AFTER: Now DeepCura generated an analytics table specifically for that header that we directed, the point is, you have all the freedom to ask or design your note exactly the way you want it. Here are some of the top advanced prompts created by some of our users by specialty. You can come up with your own routines and templates, the limit is in your imagination. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Troubleshooting Tips Corrupted Recordings. This is the most popular issue amongst our users, you simply need to go to your browser's settings and select as input the appropriate microphone. Go to settings Then on privacy and security select site settings. Scroll down and select "Microphone Select the appropriate microphone, and now it should work. Note: if your recording is longer than 60 minutes, we require you to have high upload internet speed. Browser Performance We have learned that Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox have the best performance for our application. It's extremely important that you keep your browser updated and free of corrupted or outdated extensions. Make sure you have enough space for long recordings in your device. For mobile recordings overall, disable screen locks. Create a shortcut on your mobile menu to access DeepCura instantly. Why DeepCura can't remember the previous message from the thread automatically? DeepCura doesn't remember past messages in a patient thread to avoid errors or hallucinations in clinical records. Each new note message in a thread starts fresh. Use the "Voice edit" button to include your last note, then add your new instruction as needed. Or, use the "ask entire thread" button to gather all previous data from the conversation, mimicking the ChatGPT style but maintaining patient note isolation for each new entry. You can also delete temporarily specific patient stages from the thread so that you can generate insights from those specific patient encounters. This approach ensures each patient's data is kept separate and reduces errors and hallucination from past entries due to context or thread exhaustion, if you have experience using AI chats based on thread conversations, you may be aware the response reduces in quality as the thread gets longer, our approach ensures you always get the highest possible answer from our AI engine. Dealing with Missing Information: If information is missing in your notes: Check the transcript first by clicking "Review Transcript". If the info is there, it means the AI didn't include it in the note. Be more specific in your prompt or add a clear sub-instruction under the relevant header to include that specific information with the writing style you need. If it's not in the transcript, the recording may be partial or corrupted. This can be due to screen locks, slow internet connection, VPNs, outdated devices, or issues with browsers and extensions as we do not record using our servers, the entire recording is handled by your device and browser. If you have slow internet connection or an outdated device, please use a recording device that does not require internet such as the voice memo app in Apple devices and upload the recording directly. Ensure your browser and device can handle and store long recordings. For reliability, use the voice memo app on Apple devices for long recordings. Upload the audio with your custom prompt. Position the microphone well for clear audio quality.
